Assistant General Chairperson - Two Year Term
Jeffrey Rusk has been an Assistant General Chairperson since 2007. He has also served on the IAM/USAirways Negotiation Committee since 2002. For the past three years, Rusk has been a member of the System Board of Arbitration, where he participated in winning arbitrations on behalf on the District Lodge 141 membership in CLT, PHL and BOS.
Rusk started his union career in 1981 with the Glass Bottle Blowers Association (GBBA) while working for Kerr Glass in Huntington, West Virginia. A year later, he was a integral witness for the GBBA in an award winning unemployment court case involving all furloughed employees.
Rusk was hired in 1983 by US Airways beginning his career in CLT. From 1988 to 1994, he assisted the union in organizing efforts at Piedmont/US Airways. When the union was certified in 1994, Rusk was a member of the CLT Grievance Committee and served as its Chairperson until 2007.
His other union duties included service as Trustee for Local Lodge 1725 in Charlotte and Flight Safety Coordinator for District Lodge 141.
Rusk has taken numerous courses at the William W. Winpisinger Education & Technology Center. He has also been an elected delegate to nearly every District Lodge 141 Convention since 1999.
