Assistant General Chairperson - Four Year Term
Assistant General Chairperson Nelson Davis began his career with United Airlines in 1977 in Kansas City, Missouri. He was furloughed in 1981 and was transferred the following year to St. Louis, where he worked in Ramp Service, Air Freight and Customer Service.
Davis later transferred to Miami, where he was elected Committee Person in 1999. He was elected Assistant General Chairperson in 2004. Davis has also been elected as a delegate to District Lodge Conventions from 2000 to 2004.
Davis also served as an elected Trustee of Local Lodge 368 and was a member of the First and Second Contract Screening Committee for Public Contact Employees.
Davis attended the William W. Winpisinger Education & Technology Center, where he took courses in Arbitration, Leadership Basic Skills, PC Applications and General Chair Training. He is also skilled in Local Committee Person Training, Pension Benefits and Contract Negotiation.
“Bringing in the Public Contact Employees to our union strengthened us and enhanced our diversity,” says Davis, who was a member of the negotiating committee for the Public Contact Employees contract in 2000.
“Diversity and education are key to the survival of our union. I am proud to serve the membership,” Davis says.
