Rachel Davis

Assistant General Chairperson - Four Year Term

Assistant General Chair Rachel Davis worked for United Airlines in San Francisco from 1983 to 1994. During this time, she worked as a Porter, Food Service Employee, Lead Food Service Employee and Trainer in Food Service. In 1994, she took on the duties of Reservation Sales and Service Representative before transferring to Oakland to work as a Customer Service Representative. In 1997, Davis transferred to Boise, where she worked as a Customer Service Representative and Service Director.

In her capacity as Assistant General Chair she is an advocate for members in discharge cases and grievances concerning contract language violations.

Throughout her union career, Davis served in many leadership positions such as: Shop Steward and First Contract Screening Committee member for Public Contact Employees at San Francisco; Committeeperson for United Airlines Customer Service at Boise; Contract Screening Committee member for PCE, Ramp and Stores, Food Service and Security at United in Boise. Davis also served on the Negotiating Committee for Public Contact, Ramp and Stores, Food Service, and Security at United.

Davis currently serves as International Association of Machinist and Aerospace Workers Uniform Liaison to United Airlines, Assistant Director of District 141’s Women’s Department.

She has attended the William W. Winpisinger Education & Technology Center, where she has taken courses in Leadership I, Leadership II, Advanced Leadership, Collective Bargaining and Advanced Collective Bargaining. Basic Specialized Training for Women, Advanced Women’s Program, Arbitration, General Chairs Training, Orientation Basic Skills, Pension Program, Comprehensive Training.

Davis also attended the Regina V. Polk Women’s Labor Leadership Conference in 2003. At the National Labor College in partnership with the William W. Winpisinger Education & Technology Center, Davis has taken several undergraduate classes working toward her Bachelor’s Degree in Labor Studies.
